HASSL Upgrades Ambassador Community to Discord
Share
Today, HASSL officially moved our ambassador community chats from WhatsApp to Discord - a step forward in building a safer, more scalable, and more values-aligned space for our growing network.
WhatsApp was always intended as a temporary home. As our ambassador community grew into the thousands, the platform became too limited and manual-heavy to manage. Moderation required constant hands-on work, conversations were hard to organise, and the format simply couldn’t keep up with the scale of what we’re building. On top of this, we’ve always been mindful of the ethics of platforms we use.
Discord gives us exactly that. With structured channels, automated moderation, age-restricted spaces for teen ambassadors, regional and professional groups, and safer communication tools, our ambassadors now have a home designed for collaboration and support.
Mighty Networks remains the central hub for resources, guides, and official updates - but Discord is now the go-to place for daily discussion, quick questions, and connecting with other ambassadors across the globe.
This shift is an important part of Stage 3 of our five-stage plan: scaling education and ambassador engagement while ensuring the systems we use are safe, sustainable, and aligned with our values.
