Why We Don’t Take Donations or Grants

We could have started pitching to big investors. We could have asked for donations.

But we didn’t—because we wanted to be funded by society, for society. 

  • We need to move fast—investors take time to pitch to, while grants come with restrictions and long processes
  • We want financial independence—so we never have to compromise on our mission (no investors pushing their own agenda)
  • We need scalability— having our own consistent funding streams helps us plan and grow quicker, as we can predict the funds available

Instead, we built our own revenue streams—funded by those who can afford to support, so we can keep future tools free for those who need them.

What Is HASSL Building?

We’re currently in Stage 2 (launched 1st of March) of our five-stage plan: building revenue streams to fund and launch the real change. These also double up as initiatives that raise awareness and educate:

  1. Unisex merch that also raises awareness
  2. Money coming in whilst employees learn how to intervene safely as bystanders.
  3. Big brands pushing the message where it can’t be ignored and fund our work (coming soon!)
