Tackling the root causes

HASSL has a clear goal: to tackle female harassment at its root, and redirect responsibility away from women and onto society—where it belongs.

Why?

For too long, society has placed the burden on women to “stay safe.” Carry this, wear that, don’t go here, don’t do that. We reject that. The issue isn’t women existing. It’s the system that has allowed harassment, violence, and misogyny to thrive. We’re here to change that.

What we stand for...

  • 💡 Intersectional Feminism

    We recognise that oppression isn’t one-size-fits-all. Women’s experiences vary based on race, sexuality, disability, gender identity, and socioeconomic background. We centre all women—especially those who face multiple barriers to safety and equality.

  • 🚫 No More “Just Be Careful”

    We don’t do safety keychains, alarm apps, or “don’t walk alone” advice. Instead, we tackle the root causes: systemic sexism, lack of education, barriers to reporting, outdated laws, and poor public space design.

  • 🙌 Men Must Be Part of the Solution

    Harassment and assault aren’t just “women’s issues.” Men play a crucial role in calling out behaviour, challenging toxic norms, and refusing to stay silent. If you’re not part of the problem, you should be part of the solution.

  • 🏳️‍⚧️ Trans Women Are Women

    Full stop. HASSL is an inclusive movement that stands for the safety and rights of all women—cis and trans.

  • 🌍 Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

    A world where women are safe is a world that benefits everyone. We advocate for equity in workplaces, education, public spaces, and legislation—ensuring no one is left behind.

  • 📢 We’re Done Being Ignored

    We don’t wait for permission to make noise. Through education, awareness campaigns, workplace training, and real-world action, we’re making society impossible to ignore.

A Social Enterprise, Not a Charity

We’re not here to rely on donations or get stuck in endless fundraising cycles that slow impact. Instead, HASSL is a social enterprise—meaning we create sustainable, self-funded growth that allows us to scale quickly and effectively. Our revenue streams also double up as initatives to further our mission, providing funding whilst making a positive impact.
