Welcome to HASSL

HASSL isn’t about adding more “safety” tools to women’s to-do lists. Instead, we focus on tech-driven products, transformative services, and education to create safer public spaces for everyone. By tackling harassment’s root causes and engaging entire communities, we aim for lasting change. In our first month, HASSL gained 100,000 TikTok followers and 45 million Instagram views —but we're just getting started.

The problem

Around the world, millions of women adjust their daily actions to avoid potential threats.

The impact of public harassment and assault goes way beyond what happens in the moment. For women, it often means living in constant alert mode—skipping places, rerouting, or stressing over what they’re wearing. It’s exhausting and messes with mental health, creating daily anxiety. It’s not just about safety; it shrinks freedom, impacts careers, and makes socialising a whole mission. It holds everyone back and keeps outdated, unfair norms alive.

Why is HASSL different?

Let’s be real—most “safety” products out there make women feel like the problem, telling us to carry alarms or share our locations. HASSL isn’t about temporary fixes; we’re here to tackle what’s really going on and make a difference that lasts.

1. Addressing the real issues

We’re here to change the conversation around harassment and assault, focusing on the real causes—not outdated myths. Our goal is to shift the focus from what women can do to protect themselves to how society can step up and make spaces safer. This means tackling cultural norms, accountability gaps, and public space design that fails to prioritise safety.

2. Tackling from all angles

Making public spaces safer isn’t a one-size-fits-all job. That’s why we’re coming at it from every direction. Our mission is guided by the 4 R’s: Recognising, Redirecting, Reporting, and Recovery. From prevention to recovery, we’re working to create safer spaces at every stage of the journey.

  • Recognising

Raising awareness so people can clearly recognise the scale of public harassment.

  • Redirecting

Shifting the responsibility away from victims and onto society as a whole.

  • Reporting

Breaking down barriers to reporting incidents and improving pathways to conviction.

  • Recovering

Providing tools and resources to minimise long-term impacts and helping victims heal.

4. Creating a global impact

HASSL may have started in the UK, but our mission has no borders. Harassment and safety challenges are universal, affecting women everywhere, regardless of background or location. That’s why our tech-driven solutions and awareness campaigns are designed to work across cultural contexts, ensuring everyone feels supported and included. HASSL is built to create change that transcends boundaries and builds a safer future for all.

5. Making social good mainstream

Let’s be real: most charities and social impact initiatives don’t resonate with younger generations. They often feel outdated or out of touch with how we live today. HASSL is changing that by building a movement that’s modern, minimalist, and on-trend, offering neutral-toned, thoughtfully designed, aesthetic products that fit effortlessly into your life—and look great on your social feed.

Public harassment impacts this generation of women the most, affecting mental health and everyday choices. But young women are also at the forefront of creating change. HASSL makes it easy to get involved—whether it’s through small shifts in spending habits or joining our initiatives—while also offering opportunities for allies, organisations, and communities to be part of the movement.

6. Sustainable and Scalable Change

HASSL isn’t a charity—it’s a social enterprise because we believe real, sustainable change requires more than traditional charity models. While charities play an important role, they can often be limited by bureaucracy, dependency on external funding, and challenges in scaling. At HASSL, we’ve built a model that combines the strategy of a business with the heart of a charity, ensuring our impact is both effective and long-lasting.

Self-Funded Growth

Generating revenue through training, merchandise, and events allows us to fund free initiatives, scale quickly, and reinvest in our mission without relying on unstable donations.

Agility and Innovation

We’re free from bureaucracy, enabling us to innovate, adapt, and respond swiftly to new challenges while staying focused on making public spaces safer.

Scalable Impact

Harassment is a global issue, and our revenue model lets us scale internationally, breaking cultural and geographical barriers that limit traditional charities.

Sustainable Change

We invest consistently in addressing the root causes of harassment, ensuring lasting impact rather than relying on short-term fixes.

Meet our founder

HASSL was founded by Amy, a lifelong advocate for social change. From leading charity initiatives as a teenager to studying entrepreneurship and running her own social enterprise at university, she’s spent her life driven by a desire to create meaningful change.

After university, Amy gained hands-on experience in London’s health and tech startups, working in various e-commerce, operational, and marketing roles, and most recently as COO. These roles gave her the expertise to build sustainable businesses, drive real impact, and reach wide audiences.

The idea for HASSL came from countless conversations with friends, family, and colleagues about recurring problems and ineffective solutions. Determined to make a difference, Amy saw an opportunity to create something scalable, impactful, and global. She believes that even helping one person feel safer is worth every effort, and she’s committed to building a movement that creates lasting change.
