It Stops With Us

Men: we need you to be part of the solution.

Whilst many women's safety brands speak only to women, HASSL invites men into the conversation – and the solution. With dedicated spaces and focus groups just for men, we want to work together to make public spaces safer... and end harassment for good.

Why?

Harassment isn’t simply a 'women’s issue': it’s a societal one. Men play a critical role in tackling the root causes of harassment, shifting the culture, and helping build safer spaces for everyone. By reaching and including more men while enabling them to understand our lived experiences, we can create a better culture – together.

HASSL Men Articles

Your questions, answered

I’ve never been involved in activism before. Can I still join?

Absolutely. You don’t need any prior experience. Whether you’re just curious or already active, HASSL provides resources, focus groups, and guidance so you can learn, grow, and contribute at your own pace.

How will this benefit me as a man?

You’ll gain tools to be a better ally, leadership experience, and a global community to connect with. Plus, you’ll be part of a movement that’s driving real, lasting change.

What will I actually do as a male ambassador?

You can join men’s focus groups, take part in campaigns, test resources, create content, or simply use your voice online and in real life. There’s no minimum time commitment – it’s about finding what works for you.

Is this just about calling out other men?

Not at all. Allyship can be many things: listening, amplifying women’s voices, challenging stereotypes, educating yourself, and modelling healthy behaviour. Calling things out that are harmful is part of it, but not the only part – and we're not here to alienate men.

How much time do I need to commit?

As much or as little as you can give. Some ambassadors join focus groups once a month, others take on more ongoing projects - it’s flexible and designed to work around your life.

Do I have to share my story or be public about being a HASSL ambassador?

No. Some men are very public, others support quietly behind the scenes. Both are equally valid and equally needed.

What if I say the wrong thing or make a mistake?

HASSL is a learning space. Nobody expects perfection — we just ask for openness and respect. Our focus groups are designed to be safe spaces where you can learn, ask questions, and grow without judgement.

I’m worried people will think I’m joining for the wrong reasons.

Many men feel this way at first. What matters is your genuine commitment to learning and supporting the mission. Taking action, even imperfectly, speaks louder than staying silent.
