HASSL attends Construction Industry Roundtable on Safety and Culture Change

HASSL was invited to attend a Construction Industry Roundtable focused on developing new initiatives to create a safer, more inclusive construction sector - one of the industries most affected by gender imbalance and workplace harassment and often spotlighted for its contribution to public harassment (from construction sites, vans etc.)

The roundtable brought together major players across the construction and infrastructure sectors, including safety leaders, and equality advocates, to discuss how cultural and structural change can make construction safer for women and marginalised groups.

HASSL contributed insights from its five-stage plan, sharing evidence-based approaches to tackling harassment at the root - through education, bystander intervention, and environmental design. The discussion also explored how these principles could be adapted to high-risk, male-dominated workplaces.

This collaboration marks an important step toward embedding HASSL’s prevention model into industry-specific initiatives. By working with leading organisations, we can help develop tools, training, and campaigns that ensure every site, office, and workspace is safe and accountable.

Cross-sector partnerships like this are key to Stage 3 of our plan - scaling HASSL’s impact across industries and turning awareness into lasting systemic change.
