HASSL launches Country Reps initiative for global representation

HASSL is excited to introduce our Country & State Representatives program - a new layer of leadership built to make the movement truly global, representative, and locally grounded. Under this initiative, one ambassador from every country (and one for each U.S. state) will act as the official HASSL Rep for their region, bringing local perspectives and power into our collective work.

We designed the role to be meaningful but flexible - not a full-time job, but a bridge between grassroots voices and our global strategy. Reps will translate our campaigns into cultural contexts, flag local events or issues, recruit new ambassadors, produce content, participate in monthly global meetings, and feed real-time insight back into our strategy.

Why this matters: global problems require global structures. Harassment is shaped by culture, law, language, geography - and a one-size-fits-all approach will always fall short. By embedding a local representative in each region, HASSL can adapt its work to regional realities, respond to local news, and stay attuned to how harassment manifests in different settings. It also gives ambassadors someone to turn to in their country -strengthening connection, accountability, and coordination.

In practical terms, the program has already grown fast. We now count 32 Reps globally, across 5 continents, speaking 26 unique languages - all helping make HASSL’s reach more inclusive and context-sensitive.

This launch advances Stage 3 of our five-stage plan: growing the diversity and capacity of the ambassador program - and helping HASSL stay inclusive and representative across the world.
