HASSL Joins Pecha Kucha Podcast to Talk Harassment Prevention and Social Change

Today HASSL founder and social entrepreneur Amy Watson joined the Pecha Kucha Podcast in Northern Ireland - a region with some of the highest rates of violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Europe. They discussed why preventing harassment requires more than telling women to “keep themselves safe.”

In this episode, Amy breaks down how environment, culture, and systems shape behaviour - and why individual safety advice can never solve the root problem. She also shares her personal journey from recognising privilege and everyday harassment to launching HASSL’s five-stage plan: a strategy that blends technology, education, reporting tools, and partnerships to create lasting, systemic change.

Appearing on platform like Pecha Kucha is a powerful way to scale education, build cultural momentum, and reach new audiences who may not have encountered HASSL before. It reinforces our message that harassment prevention isn’t a women’s burden - it’s a societal obligation.

This podcast appearance is a key step in Stage 3 of our five-stage plan: taking the conversation to bigger platforms, challenging harmful narratives, and turning awareness into action.
